The 18th Annual McDaniel Tennis Tournament by PBO started on March 9th with the doubles tournament between professional players from La Terraza and La Romana Country Club. The tournament aims to raise funds for the Player’s Health Insurance, the Ball Boys Scholarship Fund, English lessons, and College Scholarships, which have been successful programs benefiting young players.
Last year marked the last full-time involvement of Mr. Rick McDaniel in the tournament. Still, the PBO has agreed to support the McDaniel Committee Members in organizing the tournament’s implementation. This transition allows the tournament to continue its core programs to benefit the ball boys and players.
The doubles tournament has been successful, with pre-arranged draws featuring the best players in Casa de Campo for the seventh year running. Matches will be held at La Romana Country Club and La Terraza’s tennis courts, with an awards ceremony following the finals at LRCC.
Since the beginning of the McDaniel Family Foundation in 2005, donations have been used exclusively for the children’s and players’ benefit.
