The 36th annual Casa de Campo International Tennis Tournament starts today, Thursday August 29th, and will be played all week at the La Terraza Tennis Club in Casa de Campo La Romana, closing on Sunday September 1st, when the finals will be played.
This year, the tournament is being played in honor of Juan José Álvarez, and players from all around the world have registered to participate; Puerto Rico, Aruba, Curazao, Bonaire, Venezuela and United States, even some from the Dominican Republic!
Tournament games start today (Thursday September 29th) at 9am, while later today the inauguration ceremony will be held at 5pm. Tennis fans in Casa de Campo who do not wish to participate in the tournament are invited to the La Terraza tennis club as spectators – see the full program below.
This year, like every year, the tournament is being sponsored by the Hotel Casa de Campo and the Central Romana Corporation. Also sponsoring is luxury car brand INFINITI for the 2nd consecutive year.

On Sunday the 2nd of September, 2012, the finals of the 35th annual “Casa de Campo – Proseguros” Tennis Tournament celebrated at the La Terraza Tennis Club in Casa de Campo – a tough and fiercely battled competition, which was won by Alberto Castaño, a talented Spanish 17-year old tennis player!
