collage Last night, Thursday the 24th of September the Altos de Chavon art gallery hosted the inauguration event for the opening of it’s latest art exhibition, called Ainotna. The event started at 7.30pm and was well attended by Casa de Campo residents, villa owners and a large number of Altos de Chavon art students. The paintings on display were a mix of Dominican landscapes and human portraits. The portraits are stunning; life-like, colorful, beautiful and in a few cases erotic interpretations of the human body. The landscapes are equally beautiful, most of scenes of a beach at Bayahibe, which Ainotna refers to as her ‘private beach’ as when she goes there early in the morning it is totally deserted. This is not the first time Ainotna’s art has been on display in Casa de Campo, her art was also part of the Fundacion MIR exhibition held at the La Romana Country Club in Casa de Campo, in 2007. Also in attendance at the exhibit opening was Agustin, of Agustin en TV, who filmed an interview with Ainotna for a TV show called ‘Matutino de Hoy’ which airs on Chanel 17. Agustin promised us that he would upload a copy of the interview to U-tube, and as soon as we find it, we will publish it for you! The Altos de Chavon art gallery is open every day, except Tuesdays, from 9am until 9pm, and the Ainotna exhobition will be open until October 20th.
