Earlier this year, starting on valentines day, approximatly 40 golfers gathered to participate in the second annual Procigar Golf tournament, which has apparently been getting a little love and attention lately from the tabacco industry press. Specifically, articles have poped up in the magazine “Tabacconist” as well as in “Tabacco Outlet Business”.
The tournament was more a whirl wind tour of the Dominican Republic tabacco, golf, rum and beer industries, as its focus was more to showcase the wonderful facilities of our lovely country; with a healthy focus on fun. While in Casa de Campo, the participants enjoyed a ‘best ball’ competition on the Teeth of the Dog, a tour of the Tabacalera de Garcia’s factory in the nearby La Romana free trade zone, and a showing of the spectacular Kandela show in the Altos de Chavon Amphitheater.
While it is always fun to come across positive press about our beloved Casa de Campo, anyone who has lived in the Casa de Campo resort community, rented a villa or stayed in the hotel is probably already well versed in the perfect pairing of round of golf on the Teeth of the Dog and the perfect cigar
