Inversiones Bastilla del Caribe – IBC, a renowned family-owned company at the naval level, with more than two decades in the nautical market, had the pleasure of receiving students and graduates on Friday, October 25 at its facilities in the Marina de Casa de Campo of the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC). Participants had the opportunity to meet with the founder of the company, Mr. Mauro Caslini, and his children Alice Caslini & Federico Caslini, and learn more about the process of creation, design and development of a boat, as well as the successive maintenance and restoration of it.

The students were able to enter the shipyard, where Mr. Giacomo Moriconi and the different workshop managers explained every part of the process were also able to personally experience the day-to-day work of the delicate planning and restoration work of a boat.

The intention of this type of event is to let future professionals learn more about this job and motivate higher education schools such as INTEC to add to their Industrial Design, Architecture and Interior Design career in the area of Design and Nautical construction.

At the end of the visit, the students left with an excellent impression of the work done by IBC at the Shipyard, and with newfound knowledge thanks to everything that was explained to them in every stage of the process. We hope that this serves as motivation to many students so that we are able to see more professionals in the field of nautical matters “made in DR”.
