Hogar del Niño weekend is less than 2 weeks away, and we couldn’t be more excited for the new activities added to the roster! This year, the Hogar del Niño XXI Annual weekend will take place February 16th and 17th, and will offer four different activities during the day before ending the fundraiser with dinner and dancing in the evening. The classic golf and tennis tournaments will be accompanied by two new activities this year, the Mountain Bike Treasure Hunt and Dart & Bubble Football! All activities will be held at the La Romana Country Club and all proceeds go to the Hogar del Niño charity! It is a great opportunity to have some competitive fun for another great cause!
Hogar del Niño is an educational daycare center and program in La Romana that is funded by The Patronato Benéfico Oriental, a non-profit organization founded in 1976. The PBO offers services to vulnerable and underdeveloped communities all around the Dominican Republic at little to no cost thanks to all of the donations and fundraising done. Hogar del Niño cares for more than 1,500 children daily. They provide not only education for a range of students, including over 75 blind and deaf students and vocational training for over 200, Hogar del Niño also offers medical and dental care. The students receive formal classes as well as extracurriculars that will help them in the real world.
