On Wednesday November 12th, the Hogar del Nino hosted a press conference and cocktail party in Santo Domingo.
The occasion, celebrated at Ferrari in Santo Domingo aimed to promote the Hogar del Nino’s upcoming event, the Casa de Campo Corre marathon.
Taking part in the gathering was Xiomara Menéndez Dájer, President of the Patronato Benéfico Orienta, Umberto Pitzalis, technical coordinator, Sarah Pelegrín, director of PR for Casa de Campo and Jacinto Peynado president Peynado GA, representing Ferrari.
About Casa de Campo Corre
The event, called “Casa de Campo Corre por el Hogar del Niño” will have routes of 5K, 10K and 21K on all areas of the resort, including the borders of the beautiful shores of the Caribbean Sea in the famous golf course Teeth of the Dog, including stunning scenes of the resort.
The event is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distances (AIMS).
All marathon funds marathon will be aimed at the Patronato Benéfico Oriental, which developes several social programs, including the completion of the Sports and Cultural Pavilion in the Hogar del Niño School situated in this city.

“It will be a memorable event that will allow the integration of a whole community of runners as well as beginners who have shown their support for educational projects developed for the wellbeing of many needy children in our country,” said Xiomara Menendez, Chairman of the Patronato Benéfico Oriental.
Participation costs are: RD $ 1,700.00 pesos for 21K; RD $ 1,200.00 pesos for 10K; and RD $ 850.00 pesos for the 5K participants. Visitors and observers have a share price of RD $ 450.00 pesos.
To register the day of the event, prices are: 21K RD $ 2,500.00; RD $ 1,700.00 10K and 5K pesos RD $ 1,200.00 pesos.
All marathoners will receive a special medal for participation.
In addition to the half marathon, the event will have a Music Fest with a DJ and live bands, activities for the younger members of the family, surprise guest artists and many more amenities.
That weekend, Casa de Campo offers a package of special rates at the resort ranging from US $ 76 per person per night in the Pete Dye Golf Lodge rooms with breakfast and golf cart included.

The Hogar del Niño
The Hogar del Niño is a children’s daycare and educational center for over 1500 children, located in La Romana town, just outside of Casa de Campo. Children from as young as just a few weeks old up to 18 years old are cared for and educated daily, from as early as 5:30am and staying as late as 7pm.
The organization also provides special schooling to over 75 hearing impaired and blind children, as well as a vocational school where over 235 students receive classes in different areas like: sewing; industrial preparation, installation and electrical maintenance; plumbing and management of computer office programs.
