Hogar del Niño concert

On Monday the 17th of February, Casa de Campo villa owners Mario and Nicoletta Galletto invite you to join the chorus for the children at the 3rd annual “Concert of the Sport & Cultural Project”, in aid of the Hogar del Niño.

This magical tradition, a cultural treat and opportunity to give to a good cause, started in November 2011, with a performance by fellow Casa de Campo villa owner and talented international pianist, Mia Pia de Carlo. Last year, the concert series was continued in February, with three Dominican musicians; soprano Atonia Chabebe, tenor Juan Cuevas, and pianist Elioenai Medina, who enraptured the audience with Puccini, Verdi, Rossini and Mozart.

This year, on Monday the 17th of February, the Galletos once again open their Casa de Campo villa for the cause, with a performance by the “Camerata Coral Dominicana”, a choir of more than 30 Dominican musicians, as well as soloists, to be directed by José Enrique Espin S.

“This year the concert will be extraordinary,” Mario Galleto told Casa de Campo Living. “This is the 3rd concert in aid of the Hogar del Niño Sport and Cultural Project, and after the first concert with Maria Pia Fazio, who highlighted the importance of Italian music, we have always wanted to provide a platform to showcase Dominican culture and talent. The concert will be another important recognition to the beautiful country that is our host”, he added.

The event to be hosted at the Galletto’s Casa de Campo villa – Las Cerezas #14 – will start from 6:30pm, to include a welcome cocktail followed by the concert.

Entrance to the event is just RD$3,000 per person (approximately US$75), with all monies gathered destined to the Hogar del Niño Sport and Cultural Project.

Thanks to the support of the Casa de Campo community, especially the Galletos, as well as many others, the Sport and Cultural Project is already advancing successfully. The main structure of the stadium has already been built, but it is still missing a roof. We hope to see you at the concert so we can raise the funds needed to “put a lid on” this important project for the Hogar del Niño and the community of La Romana, which will provide a safe place to enjoy sports and cultural pursuits (such as theatrical events).
