Happy Valentine’s Day! This Valentine’s day at Casa de Campo Living we are celebrating by bringing you Casa de Campo’s top 5 spots for romance!
1. The Dye Fore Terrace
The “Dye Fore Terrace” is a lounge area, used as a kind of club house for the Dye Fore golf course with a bar open somewhat sporadically serving drinks to golfers. This area is also occasionally used for events. The majority of the time however, it is completely deserted, making it a wonderful place to sit and relax with your special someone and enjoy a beautiful view over the Dye Fore golf course and the Chavón river. Don’t forget the champagne!
2. The private cabañas at the Beach Club by Le Cirque
The Beach Club by Le Cirque restaurant has 3 private beach cabañas, which can be used during the day as a place to hang out and relax whilst you’re at the beach, for having lunch or for cocktails and dinner in the evenings. The private cabañas and the private lounging areas outside, are popular amongst Casa de Campo’s celebrity guests and were used by Beyonce and her group of celebrity friends (Alicia Keys, Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez among others), when they were in Casa de Campo celebrating the 40th birthday of Jayzee in December 2009. (For the full story of Beyonce’s visit to Casa de Campo, click here.)
Table set for 2 at Minitas Beach, Casa de Campo
However, if you (or your loving partner) can snag one of these cabañas for a sunset champagne cocktail and dinner for 2, you’ll enjoy one of Casa de Campo’s most romantic experiences. With just the sound of the lapping ocean for company (and the occasional waiter of course), you and your loved one will be able to laugh, kiss and cuddle to your hearts content!
Over the years, Philip and I have celebrated many special occasions in a cabaña at the Beach Club by Le Cirque, such as birthdays and anniversaries – and we highly recommend you give it a try!
3. The Teeth of the Dog Golf course
Most popular amongst golfers who flock from across the globe to play golf on it’s world famous Pete Dye designed holes, the Teeth of the Dog is undeniably stunning, with numerous beauty spots along it’s 7 oceanside holes, which at sunset (or sunrise), become undeniably romantic.
A romantic sunset at the Teeth of the Dog
From the first oceanside hole (#5) of the Teeth of the Dog through to hole #8, you will find dozens of prime sunset viewing or romancing spots, such as the small cove/beach at hole #5, the log of wood in the ocean below hole #6 and the green of hole #8.
4. Altos de Chavón
As THE place to get married in Casa de Campo, the artist’s village of Casa de Campo is undeniably romantic, but as well as the church and the gorgeous view of the Chavón river from the plaza, there are a number of other wonderfully romantic areas for you to explore!
• The cocktail terrace at Gino In Trastevere restaurant, whatever the time of day having a drink or bite to eat here you will enjoy the most spectacular view of the river and a refreshing breeze. Click here to find out more about Gino’s.
• The bell tower of the St Stanislaus church has a striking bird’s eye view of Altos de Chavón and the river.
• The private terrace areas. As you walk around Altos de Chavón, by the cliffs edge you can drop down and enjoy a little privacy (and even better views) from a number of lower terraces – my favorite is just by the stairs that lead up to Gino’s.
5. Aboard a private yacht
The beautiful Marina Casa de Campo is without a doubt a romantic place, but there is no-where more romantic, magical and decadent than being aboard a private yacht. On board a private yacht you can enjoy a wonderful cocktail and dinner overlooking the bright lights and activity of the Marina Casa de Campo, whilst being all alone to enjoy your romantic evening under the stars.
Another great place for romancing in the Marina Casa de Campo is La Enoteca wine bar, where you can indulge on the very best wines, champagnes and liquors and order dinner from any one of the surrounding Marina Casa de Campo restaurants.
Click here to find out more about La Enoteca.
NOTE: These 5 romantic spots in Casa de Campo were chosen by me (Rebecca Hughes) and are my personal favorites – there are of course many more beautiful spots to be found and enjoyed in the Casa de Campo resort!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
