The Fundación MIR – achievements 2011!
A charity, with a big focus on education, the Fundación MIR was thrilled to this year celebrate a number of special occasions at their schools in La Romana:
• The Graduation of 132 pupils!
In August this year, the”Fundación MIR” and “MIR Esperanza” schools celebrated the graduation of 132 students with a graduation ceremony held at the Inmaculado Corazon de Maria School.
• The 3rd “Voice Festival” at the “Técnico Vocacional MIR” school
The Fundación MIR’s “The Voice” contest was celebrated on Monday the 24th of October, with the participation of talented students from three different programs competing for the first three places!
• The Inauguration of the Fundación MIR’s new School: The Primaria MIR Monday the 27th of December the inauguration of the Fundacion MIR’s newest school the ‘Primaria MIR’ was celebrated at the school itself, with all the children, their teachers and a group of VIP’s, all of whom were thrilled to see this important project come to life!
The Fundacion MIR is a non-profit organization which works to provide education to the children of the greater La Romana area, who are most in need. They run 3 schools; the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Tecnica Vocacional Fundación MIR (girls vocational school) and the Primaria MIR (infants school).
