Last Saturday the 10th of August 2013, the Fundación MIR Family weekend got underway bright and early at the La Terraza Tennis Club. The La Terraza Tennis Club with it’s 13 courts, bar, swimming pool and terrace proved to be the perfect setting for the occasion. The tournament, overseen by Emilio Vasquez, Casa de Campo Director of Tennis, was played in doubles in a round-robin format with each player partnering with every other player and accumulating points individually. By the end of the morning, the players with the most individual points were crowned as the winners. With Lyanne Azqueta, Executive Director of the Fundación MIR taking part alongside her brother Aleco Azqueta and their mother, Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, Founder and President of the Fundación MIR spectating – it was a real family affair! Not to mention Ana Grande who was battling it out in the ladies division – joined by her son, Charlie Grande, who as junior champion joined the ladies to make up the numbers, as well as the numerous other Casa de Campo families playing and/or watching from the side-lines! As always, thanks to the expert help of La Terraza’s team of ball boys and players, as well as Adonis Siervodedios and Emilio Vasquez the event went off without a hitch and most importantly everyone had a great time!
