bill clintonEarlier this week, on Monday the 25th of March, Bill Clinton former President of the United States of America was here in Casa de Campo – playing a round of golf on the Teeth of the Dog.

bill clintonThe Teeth of the Dog, designed by Pete Dye and opened in 1971 is now ranked as the Caribbean’s #1 golf course and #22 worldwide – and is according to Casa de Campo Golf Director, Gilles Gagnon, one of former President Bill Clinton’s “favorite golf courses in the world”. With no less than 7 holes dramatically skirting along the Caribbean ocean – what’s not to love!? He “loves the Teeth” says Gilles Gagnon.

Also on the Teeth of the Dog that morning was Gilles Gagnon with his family – who were lucky enough to pose for a photo with former President Bill Clinton, “he was very nice that day, as always, and after I introduced him to my family he suggested to have a family picture with them.”

Staying in Punta Cana as a guest of famous Dominican fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, former President Bill Clinton popped over to Casa de Campo for the day – first playing a round on the Teeth of the Dog with his good friend and Casa de Campo villa owner Rolando Gonzalez-Bunster, before joining the Gonzalez-Bunster family and other special guests for lunch.

bill clintonThe wonderful lunch with former President Bill Clinton was served at the Gonzalez-Bunster’s magnificent Casa de Campo villa, which boasts a fabulous view over the Teeth of the Dog golf course and the Caribbean sea.

Well-known and loved members of the Casa de Campo community, the Gonzalez-Bunster family host many dinners and parties throughout the year – the most well-known being the “Argentine BBQ” of the Casa de Campo Sugar Golf Tournament, which is this year being played from the 3rd to the 6th of April – click here to read more about this glamorous occasion.

Bill Clinton isn’t the only former President of the United States to golf in Casa de Campo, he’s in good company… we’ve also seen former US Presidents Carter, George W. Bush and George Bush Senior, as well as former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chrétien.
