On March 11, 2023, the Casa de Campo Polo Club will host the First International Women’s Polo Cup of the Dominican Republic in honor of International Women’s Day. The event will feature players from Argentina, Italy, Paraguay, the United States, and Venezuela, making it a truly international affair.

The seven-goal tournament was created by Polo lover and Casa de Campo resident the argentine Carolina Rainer de Matos, with the collaboration of the Director of Casa de Campo Polo, Fernando Arata and Patricia Panzarasa, Director of the Women’s Polo Circuit in Argentina and is set to be a momentous occasion for women’s polo in the Dominican Republic and beyond.

Women in polo

In recent years, women’s polo has gained more recognition and opportunities for female players, with more tournaments and championships explicitly created for women. For example, the Argentine Women’s Polo Open, the highest point of women’s polo, was established in 2017 and attracted top female players worldwide.

Women’s polo is just as thrilling and competitive as men’s polo. And with more opportunities for women to participate and compete at the highest levels of the sport, it’s only a matter of time before we see more female polo players breaking barriers and making history!

First International Women’s Polo Cup

The organizers hope that the First International Women’s Polo Cup of the Dominican Republic will showcase the talent and passion of female polo players and inspire more women to get involved in this exhilarating and rewarding sport.

The best part is that this event is for a good cause! The cup supports the “Madres Maravillas” program. It directly impacts 167 mothers from de Hogar del Niño and more than 500 sons and daughters in extreme vulnerability conditions, having lost their jobs due to the pandemic. By attending the event, you’ll be helping to make a real difference in the lives of these families.

So mark your calendars for March 11, 2023, and join us for an exciting and meaningful event. This is an opportunity to witness top-notch sportsmanship while supporting a great cause. Take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime experience and be a part of the First International Women’s Polo Cup of the Dominican Republic!
