Come December 18th, we will get to witness the live nativity scene and talented performance by the children of the Fundación MIR.
Over the cobblestone steps of Altos de Chavón and underneath a staged barn of wood and hay, students act out a skit of Jesus’ arrival in Bethlehem. They dress in colorful, decorated costumes, including adorable shepherds, angels, wise men, and of course Mary and Joseph, and forego nerves, performing in front of the Casa de Campo community. They sing traditional Dominican carols, and showcase the beauty of Christmas with their talent and charm towards such a beautiful story. We are so excited to see this year’s play.
The event will be in the main Plaza at Altos de Chavón, in front of the St. Stanislaus Church and is free of charge. The Fundación MIR will be selling little cookies and treats with all proceeds going to the support of their schools, the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Tecnica Vocacional Fundación MIR (girls vocational school) and the Primaria MIR (infants school).
Mark your calendars for December 18th at 5pm to catch this celebrated event, and come out to support the children of Fundación MIR!
