The first event of the Fundación MIR Family Weekend for Life got off to a warm start early on Saturday morning the 11th of August 2012, with the many tennis players and their families gathering at the La Terraza tennis club in Casa de Campo, all eager to take part in the tennis tournament being held in support of a great cause.
The tennis tournament was part of the annual Fundación MIR Family Weekend for Life event, celebrated this past Saturday the 11th of August 2012 which also included a golf tournament, as well as a dinner-dance gala on Minitas Beach. The tournament, hosted by the Fundación MIR was co-ordinated by Emilio Vasquez, Casa de Campo Director of Tennis and was played in a round robin format in 3 categories: men, women and youth. A tennis clinic for the younger children also took place.
“The MIR tennis tournament is one of my favorite events in Casa de Campo. It gives recreational tennis players such as myself the chance to compete in a very relaxed atmosphere, and offers us the opportunity to get to know other tennis players from all over the world.
I support the Mir because it’s roots are fundamentally planted in educating the youth of La Romana which is essential in order to achieve success.”— Ana Grande, owner of Cabana fashion boutique at La Romana Country Club
