Fearsome female “tenistas”: Ana, Mary, Sofia & Lyanne
Amongst the many Casa de Campo villa owners and visitors taking part in the tournament was Aleco Azqueta (crowned the mens champion), who with Ron Atlantico was when of the events sponsors (later we all enjoyed some great mojitos).
Also competing was Lyanne Azqueta, Executive Director of the Fundación MIR, a passionate and enthusiastic driving force behind the development and growth of not only the Fundación MIR Family Weekend for Life event, but also the Fundación MIR – who is currently helping more children in it’s 3 schools than ever before.
“The MIR tennis tournament is one of my favorite events in Casa de Campo. It gives recreational tennis players such as myself the chance to compete in a very relaxed atmosphere, and offers us the opportunity to get to know other tennis players from all over the world.I support the Mir because it’s roots are fundamentally planted in educating the youth of La Romana which is essential in order to achieve success.”
