On Friday the 3rd of August, 2012, at the “Auditorio del Liceo Arístides García Mella” auditorium in La Romana, Fundación MIR proudly celebrated a lovely graduation ceremony for 103 students who attended the foundation’s girls and boys schools in La Romana – wonderful evidence of the Fundación MIR’s efforts in educating children who live in the area!
This which is now the 7th graduation, the 1st one celebrated with the graduating classes of 2004 – 2005, started at 4pm, an emotive act in which happy students paraded into the auditorium, receiving their awaited diplomas, accompanied by Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, Founder and President of Fundación MIR, her husband Norberto Azqueta and their daughter, Lyanne Azqueta, Executive Director of this institucion, as well as by numerous friends and relatives.
This special ocassion not only celebrated an important step in these young boys and girls’ lives, it also celebrated the Fundación MIR’s and its many supporters’ dedication, efforts and commitment to provide education to these 103 young Dominicans, among them, Alba Raquel Jose Leonardo and Julio Cesar Frías Romero, as Valedictorians, who like those in previous graduation ceremonies, are today contributing to the Dominican Republic’s development.

They run 3 schools; the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Tecnica Vocacional Fundación MIR (girls vocational school) and the Primaria MIR (infants school).
