1. Michael Jackson got married in Casa de Campo?
Michael Jackson did not marry his first wife Lisa Marie Presley in Altos de Chavón – but the couple did stay at Casa de Campo whilst in the Dominican Republic for their wedding in 1994.

2. Dolphins in the Chavón river!
There are dolphins living in the Chavón river! They spend the night in the Chavón river and jour- ney over to nearby Saona island everyday to feed.

3. Casa de Campo in “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.”
Casa de Campo was featured in the 1971 and 1987 editions of the magazine; “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.”
In 1971, the resort was showcased in a feature article, called “A new era for an old island”, with beautiful images of swimsuit models; Tannia Rubiano, Cynthia Korman and Carmen Luísa Vela, as well as one of Alfonso Paniagua at Minitas Beach, Rancho Peligro, the Teeth of the Dog golf course and the Dude Ranch.

In 1987, the resort was featured once again in an impressive 33 page spread with 7 different swimsuit models; Elle Macpherson, Kathy Ireland, Kim Alexis, Maren Alexander, René Simonsen, Monika Schnarre seen posing in swimsuits all over the Casa de Campo resort; on the Teeth of the Dog, at Altos de Chavón, on Minitas Beach, at the Casa de Campo hotel, at private Casa de Campo villas, at the Casa de Campo polo fields as well as in nearby areas; Bayhibe, Catalina Island and “Oscar’s Beach”, now known as “Playa Blanca.”

4. The multi-national Casa de Campo community!
The Casa de Campo resort has more than 2,000 permanent residents of all different nationalities!

5. Frank Sinatra inaugurated the Altos de Chavón amphitheater!
The Altos de Chavón amphitheater was inaugurated by Frank Sinatra on August 20th 1982 – that’s 30th years ago!

6. The naming and history of the Teeth of the Dog golf course
The Teeth of the Dog golf course was originally named “Cajuiles” after the cashew trees, but during construction was renamed after the sharp rocks along the oceanside holes.

7. Megayacht “Mirabella V” at the Marina Casa de Campo
In December 2011, the Marina Casa de Campo played host to the “Mirabella V” the world’s largest single-masted yacht which is 247ft long and 290ft tall!
