Playa Minitas, Casa de Campo’s pristine-golden sand beach has been ranked #3 of the World’s top ten famous beaches, by the website of the name “Beach Lovers Guide.” Among the other top 10 beaches was Bondi Beach (#5) and Plage de Pampellone, in Saint Tropez (#1).
Here’s what the “Beach Lovers Guide” had to say about Playa Minitas:
“The pristine La Minitas Beach in the Dominican Republic is only a ten-minute shuttle bus ride away from Casa de Campo resort and is filled with bars and restaurants.
There are plenty of water sports opportunities with kayaks, windsurfing and paddleboats, and you can even have a massage right on the beach.”
They may well have ranked our beloved playa as #3, but we can’t help but feel their description is a little inadequate! Surely the 10 minute bus ride is not really worth mentioning – especially as its not technically true! (Playa Minitas is actually INSIDE the Casa de Campo resort.) Playa Minitas is on this list for a good reason, quiet simply because it’s beautiful, it’s peaceful and it’s home to the Beachclub, by Le Cirque, arguably one of the best restaurants in the DR. It’s the perfect place to unwind during the day – under a palm tree with a freshly picked coconut (or a cheeky Pina Colada) and a great place to eat, drink and be merry on a warm Caribbean evening.
