Former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres and Miss Dominican Republic, Dalia Fernández to take part in the Fundación MIR Magical Splendor for Life Gala and Fashion Show!
The Fundación MIR’s Magical Splendor for Life weekend and gala, an event that raises money for the MIR charities, is taking place next weekend (Friday the 27th of January) and we have just heard that Dayanara Torres, who became Miss Universe in 1993 will be acting as the Mistress of Ceremonies during the main gala and fashion show!
Every year the Fundación MIR’s Magical Splendor for Life Gala is one of Casa de Campo’s most elegant soirees with a chic cocktail reception, the Tiffany’s Mysterious Blue Boxes, dinner and a fabulous fashion show, which this year will be featuring the designs of Badgley Mischka.
This year to add even more glitz, glamor and beauty to an already sparkling event, 2 beauty queens will be taking part in the show! Ex Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, has been invited by the Fundación MIR to take part in the event as the Mistress of Ceremonies, whilst taking part as one of the runway models will be Miss Dominican Republic, Dalia Fernández.
As the 3rd Puerto Rican to be crowned Miss Universe in May of 1993, Dayanara Torres is known to be a talented model, actress, singer and writer! And rumor has it that Dayanara Torres, has actually visited Casa de Campo, staying in a private villa during the Christmas Holidays just two years ago.
A “new friend” to the Fundación MIR, Dayanara Torres is very much looking forward to meeting the children of the Fundación MIR’s different schools and projects located in La Romana and will be taking a tour of the projects on Friday January 27th before the grand event.
We imagine (although we don’t really know), that both beauty queens; Dayanara Torres and Dalia Fernández will choose to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying Casa de Campo either side of the event, so don’t be surprised if you happen to catch sight of some gorgeous ladies on Minitas Beach or having a few drinks in Altos de Chavón!
The Magical Splendor for Life Gala is an annual event, organized to raise funds for the Fundación MIR.
The Fundación MIR is a non-profit organization which works to provide education to the children of the greater La Romana area, who are most in need. They run 3 schools; the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Tecnica Vocacional Fundación MIR (girls vocational school) and the Primaria MIR (infants school).
