From Thursday 29th of March to Saturday 31st of March 2012, the best fishing boats and fishermen from both the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico competed in the 6th Annual “Ferries del Caribe Open Fishing Tournament” at the Marina Casa de Campo to raise money to benefit the “Ferries del Caribe Foundation.”
A way of continuing their efforts to provide a better life for many families living on the Dominican-Haitian border, the 6th Annual “Ferries del Caribe Open Fishing Tournament” was celebrated in the Marina Casa de Campo, in which Puerto Rican and Dominican participants competed with much enthusiasm to be crowned champions in the various categories, with boats named “Malcriá”, “Betsy”, “Poly P.”, “Mi Gorda”, among others – receiving great prize money as well as supporting a great cause!
Welcome cocktail at the Casa de Campo Yacht Club

The event started on Thursday March 29th with a welcome cocktail at the Casa de Campo Yacht Club, when the organizers took the opportunity to familiarize the participants and guests with the “Ferries del Caribe Foundation” by showing a video of the village which they are supporting as well as introducing a group of adorable children from a Special Needs School, the foundation also supports.
