The Altos de Chavon Cultural Center cordially invites you to their upcoming exhibition, Exposicion Colectiva de los Artistas Dominicanos, featuring pieces by Fernando Tamburini, Niccolo Cataldi and Kikito Rodriguez.
Opening night is this Friday March 27th and to celebrate the ocassion there will be a complimentary opening cocktail for the guests starting at 7:30pm, along with an opportunity to meet fellow art aficionados and possibly the artists themselves. The exhibit will at the Altos de Chavon Gallery until the 14th of April, so if you cannot make it to the opening you have plenty of time. Regular gallery hours are from 9:00am to 9:00pm every day with the exception of Tuesdays when it it closed.
We were are thrilled to discover that one of the three artists is a local La Romana resident – Fernando Tamburini, who is not only a talented Dominican painter but also owns his own private gallery called ‘Arte Tamburini’ which is situated in La Romana near to Trigo de Oro. M.r Tamburini’s oil paintings primarily feature scenes and vistas from Altos de Chavon – it’s beautiful and quaint houses and balconies, as well as the Chavon river.
Niccolo Cataldi will be exhibiting a collection of acrylic abstract paintings which have been inspired by the Caribbean lifestyle and feature scenes from day to day Caribbean lives.
Kikito Rodríguez will be presenting a collection of unique and beautiful lamps, which have been made of recycled materials such as steel and glass bottles, as well as a series of sculptures made from the same materials.
Kikito Rodríguez and Nicolo Cataldi are also Dominican natives, though both are currently domiciled in Puerto Rico.
