The Aldea Cultural Santa Rosa de Lima invites you to their 1st Craft Fair called “Freedom in Artistic Expression” to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the “Centro de Corrección y Rehabilitación Cucama La Romana”, which is La Romana’s jail/correctional facility.
This craft fair started today, Thursday July 16th and will remain open in the Aldea Cultural Santa Rosa de Lima in La Romana until this Sunday July 19th. The crafts on display include recycling works, paintings, necklaces, woodwork, candles and leatherwork, all pieces made by the inmates of the Cucama La Romana Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
These kinds of activities are carried out to show the world all the artwork these inmates can make, although deprived of their liberty. This is a truly unique project and a great opportunity to see (and buy) beautiful handmade Dominican crafts, so we hope you will be able to support this initiative.
The following photos of the show are just some of the works which can be on display at this 1st Craft Fair commemorating the 3rd anniversary of the Cucama La Romana Rehabilitation Center:
