The afternoon of Saturday, March 16, saw the Casa de Campo polo field transformed into the stage for an exhilarating showdown at the Second International Ladies Polo Cup. At 4:30 p.m., the team sponsored by Mercedes, She’s, faced off against the Tpack team in a contest that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the end.
She’s, composed of Gui Suffern, Praxilla Trabattoni, Veronica Pose, and Elaine Bruhin, emerged victorious over Tpack with a narrow scoreline of 4-3. It was a tightly contested match, with both teams deadlocked at 3-3, leading to an extra round to determine the winner.
The cool and windy weather provided the perfect backdrop for this sporting event, aiding in horse oxygenation and contributing to a vibrant atmosphere on the field. The polo players showcased their skills with every move, demonstrating their prowess and dedication to the sport.
The match began with the emotional rendition of the Argentine national anthem, followed by the participation of a group of talented girls from the Hogar del Niño school, who gracefully sang the notes of the Dominican national anthem.

Fernando Arata, Casa de Campo’s Polo Director, Dr. José López, and Central Romana executive Dr. Leo Matos provided match commentary, while referees Julio López and Federico Martelli ensured fair play on the field.

The atmosphere was electric, with the field packed with Casa de Campo community members, special guests, polo enthusiasts, and curious onlookers. Distinguished guests included Argentine Ambassador Sandra María Winkler and her husband Ezequiel Bergallo, alongside Argentine Consul in the Dominican Republic, Javier Outumuro.
Attendees had the opportunity to enjoy exquisite cocktails and dishes courtesy of the sponsors. During halftime, an exciting donkey race involving ladies and children added an extra touch of fun to the event.

However, the excitement of the match was tempered by a regrettable incident: Polo player Mary Jo Reinhart fell and injured her right arm. Fortunately, the Central Romana Hospital ambulance promptly attended to her and took her to the emergency room for treatment.
At the end of the match, tournament organizer Carolina Rainer expressed gratitude to all sponsors for supporting this successful event, which celebrates the skill and talent of women in polo.

To culminate spectacularly, attendees were treated to a delicious Argentine barbecue courtesy of Higueral, served near the playing field.
