Despite the delay due to the rain, Enrique Iglesias got us all to our feet and made us dance to his uptempo songs last Saturday, November 7th. And just as in previous occasions, nothing, not even rain, stops a concert in Altos de Chavón, especially one which the members of our community (myself included) were waiting since September.
The young Chilean pop singer, Mariel Mariel, served as opening act for the the concert performing songs from her latest studio album, “Foto Pa’ Ti”, Enrique Iglesias took the stage and the energy he emanated didn’t stop by a single second during this two-hour concert. The audience sang and danced his songs all night long and even Daniel, Casa de Campo Catering Director, rose to stage requested by Enrique to sing his hit “Cuando Me Enamoro”.
Something I’ve seen in other concerts by Enrique Iglesias (which I watched online trying to know what to expect from this one) is that they’re very moved and the party doesn’t stop while he’s on stage, as he spends the whole show sharing with the fans, from making them come up to the stage to sing to taking selfies with the whole crowd. I was waiting for the famous selfie during the whole night or rather wanting to know what would Enrique do this time with the public of Altos de Chavón and, all of a sudden, he decided to climb to the crowd in some kind of crowd surf to sing amongst the fans and share the microphone with them.
Among the fans who gathered at Altos de Chavón for the concert were the Dominican TV Hostess, Carolyn Aquino; the entertainer, Cristian Casa Blanca; beauty queen and TV Hostess from Haiti, Sarodj Bertin; and other personalities of our community like Crysta Fanjul, among others.
