The initiative is part of the National Vaccination Strategy, developed by the Health Cabinet, led by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, to stop the local spread of the virus and promote the country as a safe destination for tourism. international.
The entity indicated that during the operative, more than 3,500 people, belonging to the entire value chain of the tourism sector, have already received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine, in a process carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Public Health and with the support from the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Defense and Viva Wyndham Dominicus, Hilton La Romana, Whala! Andrés Fernández, president of the Hotel Association and the La Romana-Bayahibe Cluster, said that this vaccination process is an important step in attracting international markets, and stressed that, once again, the union of the different actors of the destination They have made the process a success, thus managing to vaccinate not only the hotel sector but also excursion employees and the rest of the complimentary offer, which will make the destination 100% immunized in less than a month.
