SAVE THE DATE! The Good Samaritan General Hospital Foundation’s second annual charity golf tournament is being played on Saturday May the 21st and it’s time for you to sign up to play in this great, fun event, which also benefits a great cause! (Artículo en Español debajo.)

The Good Samaritan General Hospital Foundation in La Romana has been working hard to provide essential healthcare services to the most needy people of La Romana and its surrounding areas and the funds raised with this golf tournament will be used to assist poor children who need physical rehabilitation therapies, nutrition programs, medicines, hospitalizations, laboratory studies and surgical procedures abroad to correct serious heart conditions.

THE GOOD SAMARITAN GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION’S 2^nd ANNUAL BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT
(To benefit the social assistance program and the program for integral health and welfare for children)

The Good Samaritan General Hospital Foundation’s second annual charity golf tournament to raise funds for the Program for Integral Health and Welfare for children, will be held at Casa de Campo’s Teeth of the Dog, on Saturday May 21^st. 2011 starting at 1:00 pm.

The funds raised will be used to assist poor children who need physical rehabilitation therapies, nutrition programs, medicines, hospitalizations, laboratory studies and surgical procedures abroad to correct serious heart conditions.

The format will be couples scramble with the lowest handicap used to establish the category of the couple. The cost of participation is US$200.00 per person or equivalent in pesos. After the tournament, an awards ceremony will be held, with toast, delivery of trophies for the couples who get the first 3 places and special trophies for the closest to the flag, most accurate drive and longest drive. A gift raffle, auction and more will round out the day! In addition, Golfistas Dominicanos will present their contest “El Golfista Ganador”.

The first annual Benefit Golf Tournament was held last year on May 8, 2010, with sponsorship from national major brands and companies, the participating players, enjoyed a cocktail party and prize drawing for an all expenses paid trip to Uxbridge, Massachusetts, to participate in another charity tournament at the Blissful Meadows golf course. The winners of the first three places were presented with beautiful bronze trophies of “El Artistico” from Jose Ignacio Morales.

Hospital Foundation Good Samaritan’s is a non-profit institution that has been providing assistance to the needy for more than 13 years. The organization is focused on supporting the development of programs and activities targeting the neediest in the Dominican Republic. The programs include: Malnutrition and Food Control for malnourished children and patients with HIV or Tuberculosis, Women’s Health, Bio-Sand Filters for clean drinking water in the Bateyes (in collaboration with Rotary Club International), HIV / AIDS Detection and Prevention Program (in collaboration with the MIR Foundation ) Integral Health and social care for children, Mobile Medical clinics in the Bateyes and City neighborhoods, and Medical Surgical Operations (Salpingoscopy, General and Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Pediatric Urology, Arteriovenous fistula , harelip, etc.).

FUNDACION HOSPITAL GENERAL EL BUEN SAMARITANO realizará Torneo de Golf,  a beneficio de su Programa de Asistencia Social y Salud Integral para niños.

2do. Torneo de Golf Benéfico “Fundación Hospital General El Buen Samaritano”, Pro-recaudación de fondos para el Programa de Asistencia social  y Salud Integral para niños; a ser celebrado en el Campo de Golf  Diente de Perro del Hotel Casa de Campo, el sábado 21 de Mayo del 2011 a partir de la 1:00pm. Los fondos serán utilizados en asistir a niños de escasos recursos, que necesitan atenciones médicas y asistencia social (Cirugías del corazón, terapia física, nutrición, medicinas, internamientos, estudios y laboratorios, etc.)

Bajo  la modalidad scramble en pareja, será considerado el handicap menor para establecer la categoría de la pareja y el costo de participación es de US$200.00 por persona o su equivalente en pesos. Concluido el juego, tendremos el evento de premiación, con brindis, entrega de Trofeos para las parejas que obtengan los 3 primeros lugares y trofeos especiales para acercamiento a bandera, drive más preciso y drive mas largo, rifa de regalos, subastas y mas! Además el Concurso “El Golfista Ganador” de Golfistas Dominicanos.

Nuestro primer torneo fue realizado con mucho éxito, el pasado 08 de Mayo del 2010, con el patrocinio de importantes marcas y empresas nacionales; los jugadores participantes,  disfrutaron de un coctel y premios, sorteo de un viaje con todos los gastos pagados a Uxbridge, Massachusetts, para participar en  otro torneo benéfico que celebramos en el mes de Junio de ese mismo año en el Blissful Meadows golf course. Los ganadores de los tres primeros lugares recibieron hermosos trofeos en bronce de “El Artístico”.

Somos una institución sin fines de lucro, con más de 14 años brindando asistencia medica y social; nuestra organización esta centrada en el apoyo al desarrollo de programas y actividades dirigidas a los más necesitados del Este del país, entre estos, podemos mencionar: Control de Desnutrición y Alimentación para Niños Desnutridos y enfermos de Tuberculosis y VIH, Salud de la Mujer, Filtros Bio-Arena para Agua Potable en campos y bateyes (Colaboración de Rotary Club  International), Programa de  Prevención y Detección de VIH/ SIDA (Colaboración con Fundación MIR), Asistencia social  y Salud Integral para niños, Operativos Médicos o Clínicas ambulatorias en campos, parajes, bateyes y barrios pobres de la zona y Operativos Médicos Quirúrgicos  (Salpingoscopia, Cirugía General y Reconstructiva, Ortopedia, Ginecología, Odontología, Oftalmología, Urología pediátrica, fistulas Arteriovenosas, Labio Leporino, entre otros).
