For the early bird community of Casa de Campo, Dueños 2018 got off to a very early start at Minitas Beach on Saturday the 13th of October. The Casathon mini-marathon, which every year tests the physical condition of the Casa de Campo villa owners, saw the enthusiastic running community of all ages pounding the pavement in a circuit starting and ending at the entrance to Minitas Beach.
Even though it had rain throughout the night and the morning was a bit cloudy, many runners rose early to head over to the Minitas meeting point scheduled to start at 8:00 am. More than 40 runners were received by Fitness center staff members and given their participation numbers. Juan Velázquez, Administrative Vice-President of Costasur, welcomed all the Casa de Campo villa owners and their families thanking them for their continued support. The runners, divided into 4 categories, lined up in the starting line where they were motivated by Juan and gave then the “Go!” signal which made everyone sprint with great enthusiasm, and the fastest were back at the finishing line just minutes later!
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the race this year! This is certainly one of the events that most Dueños look forward to since they can test their endurance and see if they were able to improve on their previous year’s numbers – a special shoutout to David Antonov Kulkin and Edgar Almonte, both winning this event for the second year in a row and who continue to improve their time with each passing year!
That same day Casa de Campo’s villa owners were able to participate in numerous other activities and events, such as tennis and shooting activities and a golf tournament, which we will bring you coverage of in the coming days.
