Dino la Capra, a passionate supporter of the Fundación MIR has over the past 3 years raised several thousand dollars for the Fundación MIR by running in the New York and Chicago Marathons. Now Dino is preparing to run in the “Marine Corp Marathon” in Washington, DC and is requesting supporters donate books for the MIR Schools instead of making monetary donations. 

The Fundación MIR celebrated the inauguration of their elementary school, the Primaria MIR last December – with local La Romana children starting at the school last month at the beginning of the new school year. BUT the new school needs books, so Dino inspired by the Fundación MIR’s need for books, has created a book drive and has already gathered nearly 300 books!

To donate a book to the Fundación MIR’s new elementary school, follow the following simple steps:
  1.  CLICK HERE (this will take you to the Amazon.com website, where you will see the Fundación MIR’s ‘wish list’ of books.)
  2. Choose the book(s) you wish to donate – just click where it says “add to cart”
  3. Follow the steps and make your payment!
  4. The book(s) will then be sent straight to the Fundación MIR offices
Do you have unwanted books gathering dust in your Casa de Campo villa?
Please send your unwanted books to the MIR Offices in Altos de Chavón – or call them and they will send someone to your Casa de Campo villa to pick them up. Call 809.523.8270
