The dream of every amateur golfer is to enter the most exclusive club in the world in the second week of April. The adventure is not easy because tickets are limited and the Master’s Tournament at Augusta National is an aspiration for amateurs and professionals.

Within the framework of the event organized by the Edo Miquel Academy that was held this weekend at the Dye Fore, one of Pete Dye’s jewels at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, Alberto Menicucci, was the Dominican golfer who ensured his presence at the Masters 2023 after winning the 18-hole championship (Best Net Score).

“It was an extraordinary championship with unprecedented prizes such as the invitation to the 2023 Masters with tickets for the whole week donated by the Joaquín Niemann Foundation,” said Miquel, one of the great people responsible for the absolute growth of golf in Chile from his work as an instructor. de Niemann, Pereira, and other great professional and amateur players from that country.

“I was at the last LAAC that was played in Casa de Campo and I fell in love with this place. The courts are incredible, as is the hotel and all the attention they gave us,” added the Chilean, who also highlighted the importance of the event for the Joaquín Niemann Foundation, which supports low-income children so they can practice golf in Chile.

Menicucci signed a card of 70 hits (-2) and beat Juan Tomás Herrera by automatic tiebreaker. Both players were the only two to finish under par after 18 holes. “It was a unique experience, I feel very proud because the trophy stayed in the Dominican Republic. I am super excited to have the possibility of going to the Master’s next year, I will fulfill a dream. The framework of the championship in Casa de Campo was exceptional, Dye Fore is my favorite golf course and playing well here was an extra, I’m happy to be able to go”, said Menicucci, a fan from Santo Domingo.

For Casa de Campo, the presence of Edo Miquel and its annual event is undoubtedly another sign of trust and recognition in the #1 golf resort in the Caribbean.
