After an exciting afternoon at La Terraza Tennis Center, tennis aces John McEnroe and Jim Courier joined the Casa de Campo community for a dinner in their honor. Hosted at the Flamboyant conference center, the tennis enthusiast guests enjoyed cocktails and posing for photos with the tennis heroes before taking their seats for an excellent dinner catered by the Casa de Campo hotel. During the dinner, John McEnroe and Jim Courier took a few moments to answer some questions from the group. Among the highlights was “which player did you most fear playing?” To which John McEnroe responded “Pete Sampras, because he was just so damn good.” He was also asked “what do you think of Casa de Campo?” A question which garnered the answer “the Teeth of the Dog is too difficult, there is too much water… and the clay courts are too slow, they helped Jim too much,” referencing his loss against Jim Courier earlier in the day. Also taking part in the activity was Ambassador of the United States in the Dominican Republic, James Brewster, who having just attended a cocktail in his honor hosted by Phyllis Berney, sat with John McEnroe and Jim Courier on the head table.
