On Saturday the 12th of February, A-Rod and Cameron Diaz spent the evening at Cafe Juanita in the Marina Casa de Campo – much to the excitement of Casa de Campo’s residents, villa owners and tourists.
A-Rod, a frequent visitor to Casa de Campo, whose parents are both Dominican was this past weekend in Casa de Campo for the second ‘Salon de la Fama del Beisbal Latino’ ceremony – which took place in the Altos de Chavón amphitheatre on Saturday the 12th of February. During the ceremony 7 great latino baseball players were exalted into the Salon de la Fama; Edgar Martínez, Dennis Martínez, Manny Sanguillén, Luis Tiant and Ricardo Carty. A-Rod took part in the ceremony as he was honored with a plaque for being the youngest player to hit 600 homeruns, as well as the latino player with the most homeruns in the history of the game, no doubt felt honored to be included as part of the program of the exaltation of such great players.
Following the ‘Salon de la Fama del Beisbal Latino’ ceremony, A-Rod accompanied by his friends and local Casa de Campo residents Benny Abad and Mario Montero along with Cameron Diaz headed to the Marina Casa de Campo where they enjoyed dinner and drinks with friends at the Marina’s most popular hotspot, Cafe Juanita.
Being a good friend of Benny’s myself, Philip and I got the chance to meet Cameron and A-Rod, who were both very nice and we were even invited to join their table (thanks Benny). I must say I did enjoy clinking glasses with some of the world’s most famous celebs – but sadly I was too shy to ask to have my photo taken with them!
