A sonomammogram is a sonogram performed in addition to a mammogram (x-ray of breast tissue) for better breast cancer detection. Although women under 40 are considered ‘low risk’ and some doctors claim that mammograms do not work on younger women, as the breast tissue is less dense, younger women can still have these tests to be sure!
