Destination La Romana reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and accessibility

The Hotel Association La Romana Bayahibe confirms its continued support to the actions of the projects of promotion, accessibility, education and sustainability to continue promoting the development in the La Romana Destination. The entity that brings together the hotels of La Romana made these statements at their traditional Christmas dinner held at the restaurant Minitas in Casa de Campo.

Andrés Fernández, president of the Hotel Association La Romana Bayahibe, said that the institution has occupied a good part of its efforts in the national and international projection, promoting the destination in the main tourism fairs highlighting Fitur, Anato, ITB and the World Travel Market.

“We continue making efforts to make La Romana an inclusive destination for all visitors and we reaffirm our commitment to accessible tourism through programs, activities and projects that guarantee the social inclusion of people with disabilities in conditions of equality in the facilities tourist destinations of La Romana “, affirmed Fernández.

He explained the Association’s commitment to education by supporting each student at La Romana with the sponsorship of studies in the area of ​​tourism to contribute to the training of young talents in the area.

He indicated that they have managed to create strategic alliances with the main actors of the destination to give continuity to the different environmental projects carried out since 2000 to actively participate with the Dominican environmental sector in mitigating the environmental impact that it generates in marine ecosystems.

During the activity, “AFP Siembra” was recognized for its constant support to the initiatives of the Association, promoting sports in the area, collaborating in each of the editions of the Bayahibe 10k race. Likewise, Javier Noguera was awarded the “Infotur Dominicano” web portal for his firm collaboration and contribution to the promotion of the La Romana destination and the strengthening of local tourism.
