On Saturday the 23rd of April, Altos de Chavon came alive with the music of Don Omar and Victor Manuelle.
The concert with the 2 latin singers, ‘Encuentro de dos grandes’ turned out to actually be not one concert of both artists, but more like two different concerts, one after the other.
Victor Manuelle opened the spectacle at 9.30pm and played an impressive hour long set with sexy salsa hits, and romantic salsa ballads. To read more about Victor Manuelle and see photos of his section of the concert, click here.
So at 11.30pm, Don Omar fans were thrilled when the regaetton master finally made his grand entrance with his most famous song ‘Dale’ – which prompted the whole amphitheater to their feet, who began bumping, grinding and singing along with the fanous words: ‘dale don dale’.
It was a scene very reminiscent of last year’s Sabado Santa concert with Daddy Yankee and just like last year, it was the perfect warm-up for the Praia beach party that was waiting for us at Minitas beach! Showing the audience how it’s done, Don Omar stirred up a real party atmosphere, dancing provocatively with a troupe of scantily clad women, to his most famous songs: “Cuéntale”, “Pobre diabla”, “Que bien te ves”, “Chequea como se menea”, “Esa cinturita” , “No me digan que no” and “Danza kuduro.”
It was with great excitement, energy and passion, that we danced and sang to Don Omar’s last song ‘“Llorando se fue”, accompanied with a rain silver confetti. So, by 12.30am it was all over and we climbed the stairs out of the amphitheatre having enjoyed 2 fantastic concerts in just a few short hours! Outstanding!
