Casa de Campo and the Patronato Benéfico Oriental (PBO) are gearing up for the 27th annual Hogar del Niño Weekend, set to unfold THIS Saturday, Feb. 17. This highly anticipated event combines entertainment with philanthropy, promising a day of camaraderie and compassion at the La Romana Country Club.

At the heart of the PBO’s charitable efforts, the Hogar del Niño Weekend stands as a vital fundraising endeavor for the esteemed Hogar del Niño educational and daycare center in La Romana. Providing essential services to over 1,500 children daily, the institution offers academic support, medical and dental care, specialized education for hearing-impaired children, and vocational training for more than 200 students.

The day commences at 7:30 a.m. with a sumptuous breakfast at the La Romana Country Club, setting the stage for diverse activities. Golf aficionados will tee off in groups of four every ten minutes. At the same time, tennis enthusiasts will engage in spirited matches beginning at 8 a.m., injecting an early-morning buzz into the proceedings.

This year’s program features an extensive lineup of activities tailored to various interests, including the traditional golf and tennis tournaments, invigorating yoga sessions, lively padel matches, thrilling pickleball showdowns, an enriching upcycling workshop led by artist Jaqueline Severino, ending the day with a dinner-dance awards ceremony. From competitive sports to creative pursuits, there’s something for everyone to relish while contributing to a noble cause.

As excitement builds within the community, anticipation mounts for what we are sure will be a memorable weekend. With the event just days away, supporters are encouraged to mark their calendars and prepare for a day of generosity and enjoyment supporting Hogar del Niño. Save the date and join us for a day of giving back!
