The curves of the sea and the warm breezes of the Caribbean inspired this modern interpretation of a villa in the tropics by Spanish architect Joaquin Torres. The purity of these elements and the clean lines with which they relate to one another reinforce the image and precise personality of this villa.

In the back area, minimalist landscaping gives way to complement the white sand that slides towards the aqua blue of the sea.

The architectural form is the centerpiece of this house, rather than furnishings or decorations. Out of this simplicity the architecture itself is born. The first impression of the house is a presentational wall that rises off the ground. This wall protects the house, while also allowing for the development of the ample open spaces beside it. These spaces are connected with two terraces, one a pool of water, and the other the Caribbean Sea in all its beauty.

At the intersection of the green lawn, white sand, and deep blue ocean, a sea water swimming pool is integrated delicately and naturally, creating an experience for the swimmer to feel as if they are once within and above the ocean.

Torresʼ design allows the breezes of the sea to give form to composition of the volumes, embracing a fresh and light ambience filled with pure energy. You can almost feel the Caribbean wind sweeping up the sloped ceilings and curving the stone walls.

Each room in the house enjoys a dramatic balance, resting between sweeping walls of stone, breathtaking views of the Caribbean, and pools of cool water floating between the spaces.
