The 33rd graduation of the Altos de Chavón School of Design will be held on Saturday, May 13th at Plaza Chavón in front of the Saint Stanislaus church. Over sixty students will don togas and birretes (mortar boards) and mark a milestone in their lives, beginning a new chapter as art professionals. As they move on, we wish them very successful futures and are proud to soon call them Chavoneros!

As in years past, the school holds only one graduation for its two campuses; students from Santo Domingo and La Romana will graduate together on May 13th. For the school term ending this spring, Altos de Chavón School of Design will graduate approximately 49 students from Santo Domingo in the Fashion Design and Communication Design departments and 22 from here in Fine Arts. We know all students have worked hard day and night — through exciting, challenging, and sometimes stressful times to complete projects and represent their art forms to the best of their abilities. The myriad of emotions and events over the last two years will culminate in a very rewarding graduation. Every student from the School of Design has been under the tutelage of excellent professors who have guided them throughout their technical careers, and who will no doubt remain an advisor and source of inspiration as they continue on their journeys.

An exhibition of student work will be shown in the Altos de Chavón Gallery in the days prior to graduation and run through the weekend. We are positive it will be an amazing display of youthful talent and cutting edge work; work that is both skilled and exuberant. We highly encourage your attendance!
