Whilst not taking place in Casa de Campo, the “Conciertos en la Ciudad Colonial”, a 6-day festival of classical and baroque music with a magical series of concerts taking place in the Colonial Zones historical building, certainly has something to offer Casa de Campo villa owners and residents.
Amongst the numerous performers, is special guest group Axiom Brass from Chicago, Illinois in the United States, a brass quintet acclaimed to be “one of the major art music groups in brass chamber music,” who as part of this cultural festival for all the family will take to the stage at famous Santo Domingo landmarks; the Museo de las Casas Reales, the Iglesia Convento de los Dominicos, the Quinta Dominica and the Conservatorio Nacional de Música, among others.
“Conciertos en la Ciudad Colonial” is being organised by the “Conciertos de la Villa de Santo Domingo” group whose aim is to create music events of high artistic quality in the Dominican Republic.

Conciertos de la Villa de Santo Domingo
Conciertos de la Villa de Santo Domingo will offer Baroque and Classical music at an exceptional artistic level in select historic locations within the Colonial City, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The performances will not only bring audience members into specific locales but also serve as an occasion for them to acquaint themselves with the rich history and cultural inheritance unique to this region. The concerts will serve as the centerpiece of a series of cultural events and educational efforts designed to offer quality musical experiences and to acquaint the community with the unique history Santo Domingo’s Colonial City has played in the Western Hemisphere.
