The 19th edition of the annual McDaniel Tennis Tournament is poised to captivate enthusiasts and spectators from March 7 to 10, promising a thrilling showcase of athleticism and sportsmanship whilst supporting a great cause.

Since its inception, the McDaniel Tennis Program has supported and sponsored the education of ball boys and ensured players’ health insurance through its annual fundraising tournament. With the transition following the last full-time involvement of Mr. Rick McDaniel, founder of the program, the Patronato Benéfico Oriental (PBO) has stepped in to support the tournament’s core programs, ensuring its continuity and impact on the community.

The action-packed lineup kicks off with the highly anticipated opening doubles match on March 7 at the Racquet Center, formerly known as the La Terraza Tennis Center, starting at 9 am. Players and spectators alike will witness the thrilling exchanges that will set the stage for the days ahead.

A notable highlight of this year’s tournament is the inclusion of the boleritos tennis tournament, adding a fresh dimension of excitement and competition to the proceedings.

In a gesture of appreciation to sponsors, the popular River Cruise returns on Friday, March 8. Setting sail at 4 pm, the cruise offers a scenic journey up the Chavón River and back. As an added feature, there will be a raffle with exciting prizes, promising a delightful afternoon on the water for all attendees.

If you’re not one already, become a sponsor and lend a helping hand to the players and ball boys of LRCC.

Individuals and corporate sponsors are encouraged to contribute to the McDaniel Tennis Program, with all donations being tax-deductible. Checks should be made to Patronato Benéfico Oriental, Inc., with “For McDaniel’s Programs” noted. The McDaniel Tennis Committee stands ready to accept donations and address any inquiries.
