Last Thursday, June 21st we enjoyed a great Café de la Leche! This month gathering was sponsored was Barlovento 8 where they invited the ladies to bring their significant others along and join them for a fun evening of cocktails with friends! Each Café de la Leche is unique and different, and support a very beautiful cause, to help feed the more than 200 babies in the Hogar del Niño’s Crib Room

Upon entering Barlovento 8 you felt the camaraderie and immediately knew that you were in for a fun evening amongst friends. The hosts Marc Tiernay and José Calzada welcomed the guests and invited them to try any of the delicious cocktails on their menu.  These were prepared by the Mexican mixologist Humberto Cantú and his team who explained to us that each of the signature drinks was designed to get a was to step out of the routine and enjoy something new and different, with a variety of colors and flavors.

The guests enjoyed some tasty hors-d’oeuvres and some very creative cocktails! Some of the drinks the guests tried were the “Beetroot Sapphire” made with Bombay Sapphire, Lemon, Beet Syrup and Rosemary; the “White Monkey” made with Grey Goose, Sweet Potato Syrup & Lemon; the “Spicy Lychee” made with Bombay Sapphire, Lychee, Lemon, Liquid Sugar & Black Pepper; the “Spicy Corn” made with Tequila Cazadores Reposado, Sweet Corn Syrup, Lemon, Sriracha, Roasted Corn & Peperoncino. The Barlovento 8 cocktail menu is varied and we are sure you will love all of them! if you haven’t visited them yet, take advantage of their daily special two for one from 6 p.m. at 9 p.m.

The Café de la Leche events bring in 80% of the formula and milk needed to feed the babies of the Hogar del Niño Crib Room, we encourage you to be on the lookout for the next announcement and enjoy an evening with friends while supporting a wonderful charity! Thank you Barlovento 8 and Patronato Benéfico Oriental for hosting yet another wonderful event!
