We would like to extend our gratitude to the media, journalists, communicators, cameramen, newspapers and magazine editors from the city of La Romana, who gathered the afternoon of March 6 at the La Romana Family Clinic for our first “Meeting with the press”. The main objective was to share the work that our institution has done for 19 years and how it has impacted the community.
Lic. Hilda Peguero, secretary of the Board of Directors of the Clínica de Familia La Romana, was in charge of conducting this activity. The event began at 5:30 PM with the president of the Board of Directors of Clínica de Familia La Romana, Mrs. Martha Victoria, welcoming all present and thanking everyone in attendance. The executive director, Mina Halpern Lozada, made a detailed presentation of the trajectory of the organization from its beginnings to present, showing that it has continuously offered high quality medical care services to the community of La Romana and much of the eastern region of the Dominican Republic at very low prices.
Following the presentation, those in attendance were able to ask questions regarding the statistics of the services offered at the Clinic, as well as the sustainability with which the institution is managed. After all the questions were answered, María Consuelo Pérez, who is in charge of public relations, lead a tour through the clinic, showing attendees the different areas that make up the Clínica de Familia La Romana.
At the end, everybody shared a snack, and was given an informative folder with details of the consultations, images and a list of laboratory tests, with schedules and contacts, as well as printed materials of the programs and services. The meeting ended with a small raffle accompanied by a group photo and a promise from everyone present to continue collaboration.
