On July 17, Ms. Mina Halpern Lozada, Executive Director of Clínica de Familia La Romana, and Dr. Julio Amado Castaños Guzmán, Rector of the Universidad Iberoamérica (UNIBE), signed an agreement with the aim of developing a program of clinical rotations in the Clínica de Familia for the universities Internship program promoting exchanges of experiences in the fields of teaching, research and culture in general.
UNIBE students will be rotating at the Family Clinic, where they will be able to integrate into the daily work of this non-governmental organization, attend consultations and perform tasks in the community. Likewise, they will be conducting research and projects to improve the services offered at the Clinic. This agreement seeks to provide further knowledge and experience about social and community medicine.
Clínica de Familia La Romana has a program of students to rotate and volunteer at the institution since 2002. During this time, Clínica de Familia has received hundreds of students from international and Dominican universities of medicine, public health, nursing and psychology, doing rotations that have boosted their professional development. The research and projects they carry out are an important component of the work of Clínica de Familia La Romana since they help to improve the services offered and produce relevant information at the local, national and international level.
