We come bearing good news for all cigar lovers; the day for the Cigar Country Benefit is upon us!
The Cigar Country Benefit celebrates the manufacturer of the “Top Dominican Cigar 2015”: Tabacalera Arturo Fuente. Its Don Carlos Belicoso earned #4 Cigar of 2015 by Cigar Aficionado! A very well deserved ranking, the Don Carlos Belicoso is praised for its Cameroon wrapper and nutty and vanilla bean flavor. Garnering spot #10 back in 2006, this cigar has come a long way and it is definitely a must try!

Cigar Aficionado notes: “The brand was named after Carlos Fuente Sr., patriarch of the Fuente family. The factory, Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia is the largest family-owned cigar-making operation in the premium cigar business. Fuente Sr. recently turned 80, and the Don Carlos is said to be blended to his personal taste.”
The Cameroon and Dominican tobacco have been used in Tabacalera A. Fuente since establishing 30 years ago and their cigars are aged for no less than a year. The Don Carlos Belicoso has distinct chocolate aroma sweet-and-sour finish. The portfolio currently has seven sizes.
Sales from this year’s benefit go to the “Dream Project,” which is an early childhood education program for underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic. The “Dream Project” believes all children and youth in the Dominican Republic should have equal opportunities and that education can change lives.
