Christmas time festivities in Altos de Chavón have become a wonderful tradition in Casa de Campo, celebrated with as much enthusiasm as throughout the rest of the country, and indeed around the world.
Renowned for its architectural beauty and idyllic atmosphere, Altos de Chavón is the perfect place for the Casa de Campo community to celebrate these holiday events and many more Christmases to come! Villa owners, residents, and guests got to spend their afternoons and evenings with the entire family enjoying a time of worship, wonder, fun, music, and dancing at Plaza Chavón.
This is a recap of some of the activities that took place the week of December 20th – 26th:
SANTA CLAUS VISITED HIS HOUSE IN ALTOS DE CHAVÓN!
Santa and his elves visited his home in Altos de Chavón during Christmas week, where kids and their families got a chance to talk to him and take pictures!
Maracas workshop and Dominican Aguinaldo
Christmas isn’t complete here without a good ol’Dominican Aguinaldo! The Altos de Chavón Regional Museum of Archaeology and the PBO Innovation Hub hosted two activities that complement each other perfectly – a Maracas workshop and the Altos de Chavón Aguinaldo! During the activity, the kids visited Santa’s house, decorated their own maraca, and then visited the various local business singing traditional songs like “Las Arandelas”, “Alegre Vengo”, “De la montaña” and more bringing them and their clientele some Christmas cheer!
The community enjoyed a wonderful Christmas movie at the Teeth of the Dog driving range!
MAGIC SHOW FOR CHILDREN
A magical evening for the little ones of the house, Gody the magician was invited by Santa Claus himself to delight the children with his tricks.
TRADITIONAL DOMINICAN AND LATIN CAROLS WITH THE ARMONIA CHOIR
Carols by the Armonia Choir is a holiday tradition in Casa de Campo that celebrates Dominican and international Christmas music. It’s one we look forward to yearly!
DOMINICAN CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Casa de Campo community members and guests celebrated Christmas day in a traditional Dominican party with the Dekadas band. Everybody arrived at the Chavón plaza ready to dance the night away with an amazing repertoire that the group had prepared for the celebration, some even joining the group on stage!
