The Nativity Scene in Altos de Chavón

So evidently this photo was taken during daylight hours, but with the view of the river behind the nativity scene, this photo is just so beautiful I couldn’t resist including it!

Although the official “Tree Lighting Ceremony” will take place Friday the 16th of December, after the Nutcracker Ballet in the Altos de Chavón amphitheater – we were able to sneak a quick preview photo while the lights were on for testing! It’s it gorgeous!

HOW TO TAKE GOOD PHOTOS OF CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND DECORATIONS!
Taking good photos in the dark, is not easy and taking photo of christmas lights is even harder – this morning (after I’d taken the above photos), I came across a great article with some tips for photography at this time of year. The following are tips for photographing holiday lights:

  • Turn off your flash unless you have a very good reason to use it.
  • Use a fast ISO – we suggest ISO 800.
  • Avoid camera shake.
  • Use a tripod…or, at least, brace the camera. Trust your camera’s built-in meter.
