Do you remember when we talked about The Venture? Well, this Monday February 2nd Chivas Regal announced at the JW Marriott Blue Mall in Santo Domingo the winner of the social entrepreneurship competition, who will represent the Dominican Republic in the Global Competition The Venture, to take place in Silicon Valley from July 19th to 25th of this year.
The start up / business idea chosen to represent the Dominican Republic in The Venture, was: Conuco Solar, by Raul Aguayo.
The winner will go on to the second phase of the the Global Competition, beginning on March 1st. His project will be published on the crowd funding page indiegogo.com, where the public will have the chance to divide up among the 16 projects the sum of US $250,000.00. Then, before his visit to Silicon Valley, Raul Aguayo will be prepared by a group of Dominican consultants, provided by Chivas to achieve the greatest chance of success for his project.
Also taking part in the cocktail event were the finalists: Color Blind Design by Adis Ozuna, Heroes Union, by Katherine Motyka, Kookos & Co, by Julia Martinez and Ping Blip, by Armin Medx. These 4 finalists excellent ideas motivated the generosity of numerous companies, and as a result did not leave empty handed – receiving prizes valued at US$ 2,500.00.

The winner is the project that achieved the highest score in the evaluation criteria of the competition and we will be working with them from now until his presentation in Silicon Valley, proudly representing our social entrepreneurs and national talent.
