Located at a side of the huge polo fields in the exclusive Casa de Campo resort, the Soccer Academy is more than basic football clinics twice a week… It’s a recreation place for Casa de Campo’s little ones, a place where they can learn and have fun alongside other children of the same age, thanks to the motivation of an excellent group of specialized football trainers, headed by Gustavo Gimondo, founder of this outstanding academy.
This Soccer Academy was founded in mid-July of 2012 by Gustavo Gimondo of Argentina, an expert on futsal (a type of indoor football) and youth football. Gustavo considers himself a football fanatic since birth, a passion which has led him to make a career out of the sport as an Official FIFA Instructor certified by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
First day of practice July 2012
The Soccer Academy currently trains has between 35 and 40 children of ages 4-12 years, with training divided into 2 categories; one for 4-6 year olds and another from 7-12 year olds.
“Besides teaching football our major focus is to form the child as a human being, offering him affection, discipline and physical health.”
Gustavo Gimondo

The academy has a team of football trainers specialized in youth football area (a discipline focused on teaching fundamentals of play for children). Among this team are Micaela Medina an integral part of the Dominican National Football Team with 15 years of experience, including training at more than 20 youth football courses, as well as Ansuery Richard, the goalkeeper of the Dominican National Football Team.

Since the start of the Soccer Academy 2 years ago, the kids have given it the nick-name “The Bulldogs”, a reflection of their pride in their own achievements – which include being crowned as champions in the 2013 Provincial Children’s Football Tournament.
