Alongside its Chavón Summer International workshops, the Altos de Chavón School of Design will also be having its regular Intensive 3 day courses designed to develop student technique and creativity.These courses, which began Friday August 19th, will cover a variety of topics amongst which you will find Fine Arts, Fashion, Photography, Interior Design, Landscape and more.
Altos de Chavón has always been the home of art and is considered one of the first options for people pursuing a career in art. Below is a video of the School of Design taking a look back over the years at what it has accomplished. The courses are aimed at students and professionals looking to effectively develop their knowledge in various areas of art and design. The group of instructors consists of both Dominican and international professionals who come to share their knowledge with the students enrolled at the institution.
The courses are 3 sessions, with a total of 18 hours. The initial 3 day series, Friday through today, will feature courses in Watercolor techniques, Textile & Jewelry design, Swimsuit design, Crafts, 3D Modeling and Lettering. Monday, August 22nd starts a second group of courses including Figure Drawing, Engraving, Crafts, Mobile Photography, and Interior decoration, ending on Wednesday 24th. The last of the Intensive 3 day courses will stretch from Thursday, August 25th through Saturday 27th with Illustration, Kitchen Interior Design, Crafts with Resin, Seasonal Accessories, Floral Design, Social Media and Strategy, and Handbag design.

Founded in 1983, The Altos de Chavón School of Design offers careers in applied arts in the areas of Fine Arts, Visual Communication and Fashion. Graduates of the School of Design are eligible to transfer directly to Parsons School of Design in New York.
