Summer is the perfect time to experiment with color, get your hands dirty, and be free with your imagination. Though creativity is always encouraged, the Archaeology museum in Altos de Chavón has put together perfect workshops for kids and teens that makes it easy and inviting to explore new design techniques.
“Tira Nativa” Knots, Dyes, and Dyers
This textile design summer workshop allows teens to study and work with natural dyes that have been used by indigenous groups in America.
Ages: 11 – 16 years old

“When Clay Makes Sounds”
This cool class merges two art forms: clay-making and music. Throughout the workshops, participants will craft Nigerian musical instruments belonging to the percussion family, and at the end of the week perform in a musical clinic with percussionist Edgar Molina.

“Little Summer Cinema”
Remember the fond days of summer films outdoors? Sitting on the lawn with your friends and watching an all-time classic? Well, this workshop blends that outdoor theater vibe with educational storylines. Film screenings for children will address cultural themes and situations in their universe.
Ages: 5 – 12 years old+
Date: Friday 8th, 15th and 22nd of July
Time: 4pm – 6 pm
Cost: RD $100 per film
