MIR Bazaar 2016 Details details details! This year’s MIR Bazaar 2016 and Ladies Luncheon hosted by Lian Fanjul de Azqueta and Raysa Fanjul took place last Saturday April 2nd and showcased a variety of vendors presenting an all-around theme of colorfully adorned pieces, from beaded statement necklaces and earrings to embellished handbags, and garments with jeweled and fringe details. We can definitely say the trend for summer is color! And lots of it. MIR Bazaar 2016 The MIR Bazaar is an excellent source of additional income for the Fundación MIR, with 15% of sales from each purchase donated to the foundation. Casa de Campo ladies got to appreciate the variety of items which beyond clothing and accessories extended to home decor, furniture, and table linens. Some of our favorite pieces were from TECK furniture that showcased a modern element in home design, in additional to impeccable wooden serving bowls and cheese platters by Rita Santa María Razzeto. A stylish afternoon in Casa de Campo wouldn’t be complete without Papel de Limon’s gorgeous lace blouses in pastel hues, orRDA Joyas’ woven handbags crafted in Brazil. MIR Bazaar 2016Guests loved browsing the Cartier wing of the La Romana Country Club which displayed a selection of diamond pendants and exquisite watches. Before ladies turned to lunch on an amazing selection out on the balcony, designer Julissa Peralta sent adorable kids down the runway, some of the tiniest ones accompanied by the help of an adult, in her Rayuela collection. We were all smiles seeing these kids make their way through the crowd. Sissy Bermúdez’ fashion show that followed was the epitome of resort chic, with items that were not constricting to one’s shape, but easy to wear, functional and comfortable. They were especially statement worthy when combined with one of their bold, pendant necklaces. A big shout-out to Jorien van der Meij who took to helping the models prep for the runway show and even walked down the catwalk herself! MIRbazaar2016-3 Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, president and founder of the Fundación MIR, and Lyanne Azqueta, executive director, expressed a sincere gratitude for everyone’s attendance at the Ladies Luncheon and Bazaar, communicating how important the Casa de Campo community’s support is to making the Fundación MIR a success.
